The Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), is an ISO 9001 :2000 certified training institute with excellent infrastructure and state-of-the-art facility for training of bankers, rural development professionals and NGOs fromIndia ana abroad. Promoted by the National Bank of Agriculture & Rutal Development (NABARD) it is an acclaimed centre of excellence for training, consultancy and research in rural development strategies, micro finance and rural credit management with its client list including prestigious agencies such as ILO, SDC and CARE.

BIRD has recently set up a Centre for Micro Finance Research at Lucknow with tie ups with reputed institutions at Guwahati, Chennai and Jaipur and is in tha process of setting up two new Centre of Excellence for Research in Agricultural Finance and Certification of Cooperative Training.

BIRD seeks a dynamic leader with proven leadership qualities having impeccable academic qualifications and training experience to take over as Director of this prestigious Institution.
The applicant should be a post-graduate with preferably a doctorate in area such as Economics, Rural Development, Management, Banking and Agriculture. Those with excellent academic qualifications with rich experience in Rural Banking, Micro Finance, Bank Supervision, Cooperative Management and Training will be preferred.

Emoluments and perks will be comparable to that offered by the best academic institutes in the country. The initial appointment will be for three years with probable reappointment on mutually agreed terms.
