Recruitment of Chairman for NABARD








National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)

Applications are invited for the post of Chairman, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), having its headquarters at Mumbai, from suitably qualified and experienced candidates, preferably not more than 58 years of age, as on 30/11/2007.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Candidate should possess an advanced university degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Agriculture, Rural Development or a related field. He/She should have 25 years of executive experience at different levels in banks and Fls/other financial sector/agriculturel cooperation/rural development in Government / Quasi Government or private sector, of which at least 3 years should be at Board / Apex / Top Management level in the organization.

Candidates must possess a sound knowledge of banking and rural development and I or have a deep pervasive understanding of rural finance sector including cooperative banks, regional rural banks and micro finance institutions in India. In addition, good exposure to institutional development and banking supervision would be additional qualification. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership abilities and superior understanding and judgement in implementing complex financial and institutional decisions. Candidates must have significant management experience, preferably of initiating change and transforming a financial institution, superior analytical skills, outstanding communication skills, and be able to be operative effectively in both banking and Government environment.

The Chairman will have a proven ability to build and lead a multi-discipliary team, interact with Central and State Governments, Reserve Bank of India, agricultural and rural institutions, banks, international agencies and others, and will be accountable to the Board of Directors.

SALARY & ALLOWANCES
The post carries salary of Rs.26,000/- (fixed) plus allowances as admissible to Chief Executives of Public Sector Banks/Financial Institutions from time to time.
